There are 3 theme packs of cards, each one with 18 unique cards. The names of the packs are "Iron Defense", "Freezing Ray" and "Hidden Ruins". Pokémon Battle-e cards enable unique trainer battles in the "Pokémon Ruby" or "Pokémon Sapphire" Game Boy Advance title.
Each of the Battle-e card packs includes 18 different cards: 16 Trainer cards and 2 Berry cards. The Trainer cards allow players to unlock a special "Mystery Event" where they can enjoy special trainer battles. Berry cards award players with various berries not found during normal game play.
For this card to be used properly the e-Reader must be inserted into a Game Boy Advance, the "Pokémon Ruby" (or "Pokémon Sapphire") game must be inserted into another Game Boy Advance, and both Game Boy Advance’s must be connected together with a GBA-to-GBA link cable.
